Hope is committed to minimising our environmental impact and operating as sustainably as possible. As a communications consultancy working with charities, nonprofits and social impact organisations, we recognise our responsibility to demonstrate environmental stewardship in everything we do.
Carbon reduction
- Prioritise remote working to reduce commuting emissions
- Use video conferencing for meetings wherever practical, reducing travel
- When travel is essential, use public transport or low-emission vehicles
- Consolidate client visits to minimise journey frequency
Digital operations
- Use energy-efficient web hosting services for our website and client projects
- Maintain digital-first workflows to minimise printing
- Store files in cloud services rather than maintaining on-premise servers
- Archive and delete unnecessary digital files to reduce storage energy use
Equipment and procurement
- Purchase energy-efficient devices and equipment
- Consider refurbished equipment where appropriate
- Dispose of electronic equipment responsibly through certified recycling services
- Select suppliers based on their environmental credentials where practical
Waste and resources
- Minimise printing – use digital alternatives wherever possible
- When printing is necessary, use recycled paper and print double-sided
- Recycle paper, cardboard, and other recyclable materials
- Avoid single-use plastics in our office operations
Client work
- Offer digital reports and presentations as standard, with printed versions only when requested
- When producing printed materials for clients, recommend sustainable options including FSC-certified paper and vegetable-based inks
- Consider environmental impact when planning events or campaigns
Review and continuous improvement
- Review this policy annually and update our practices based on new opportunities and technologies
- Encourage all team members to suggest environmental improvements
- Share our environmental commitments with clients and partners
